Displays "Wait until the IP Address is set" forever

This is often caused by the software trying to connect to the projector over the wired jack on your computer (even if it is not connected). To fix this you need to change the order of the network cards Air Shot attempts to use.

  1. Click on the toolbox icon (to the left of the "?").
  2. Click on the Basic Setting tab.
  3. Click on the entry for the Wireless Network Adapter (brand could be Intel or Atheros).
  4. Click on the Up button until the wireless adapter is at the top of the list (or at least above any entries that don't have a red X over them).
  5. Cick the OK button.

Air Shot should then say searching for projectors and present you with the projectors list.

Why doesn't my room show up on the list?

If you have a Sony projector in your classroom, but your room number does not show up in the list of rooms, this may fix your problem.

Air shot will only list the first 10 projectors it finds on the network and the projects it shows is not always the same. This is a limitation of the software. However, there is a solution you can use to work around this.

You can manually add the IP address of the projector in your room to the list (so that it always appears) by following these directions:

  1. Open the PS for Air Shot software.
  2. Click on the little toolbox icon (aka Option Setting) at the top of the screen.
  3. Click on the Projector Setting tab.
  4. Enter the IP address of your projector. The IP address is in the lower right-hand corner of the projected image on your projection screen and it looks something like 10.xx.100.yy where xx is 14 or 15 and yy is usually a three-digit number.
  5. Click Add.
  6. Click the refresh button or stop/restart the Air Shot software.

Your projector will now appear on the the list, probably at the top.

Projector shows "connecting" forever after clicking on the room

So far, this problem has only shown up on Windows Vista computers. It is due to a setting in Windows Firewall.

To change the change the setting"

  1. Go to Control Panel (under the "Start" button).
  2. Under Security, click on "Allow a program through Windows Firewall."  (If you don't see that, click on Control Panel Home.)
  3. The Windows Firewall Settings window will open with the Exceptions tab selected.  (If not, select the Exceptions tab.)
  4. Under "Program or port", make sure there is a check in the box next to ALL entries called "Air Shot v2".
  5. Click OK to save changes.
